The first live-action film adaptation based on the beloved Children\’s book character, Clifford, gets its first teaser. From Paramount Pictures, Clifford The Big Red Dog releases in Cinemas on September 17th, 2021. Watch the trailer below…
When middle-schooler Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp) meets a magical animal rescuer (John Cleese) who gifts her a little, red puppy, she never anticipated waking up to find a giant ten-foot hound in her small New York City apartment. While her single mom (Sienna Guillory) is away for business, Emily and her fun but impulsive uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) set out on an adventure that will keep you on the edge-of-your-seat as our heroes take a bite out of the Big Apple. Based on the beloved Scholastic book character, Clifford will teach the world how to love big!
The live-action hybrid has long been in development since 2012 when Universal and Illumination were set to bring Clifford to cinemas. However, in 2016 Paramount obtained the rights to the film. Production began back in June 2019, in New York and wrapped in August, of the same year.
The adaptation is directed by Walt Becker, from a screenplay by Jay Scherick, David Ronn & Blaise Hemingway, based on the Scholastic Book Series “Clifford the Big Red Dog” by Norman Bridwell.
Releasing this September, the film stars Jack Whitehall, Darby Camp, Tony Hale, Sienna Guillory, David Alan Grier, Russell Wong and John Cleese.
Clifford The Big Red Dog releases in Cinemas on September 17th, 2021.
