\’Fantastic Beasts 3\’ Reveals Title & Release Date
Warner Bros. has announced the official title for Fantastic Beasts 3 and brought its release forward. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, the third instalment, will open in cinemas worldwide on April 15, 2022. This is three months earlier than its previous release slot, July 15, 2022.
The film follows Dumbledore who assembles a team, with the help of Newt Scamander, to stop Grindelwald from taking control of the wizarding world. On the dangerous mission, they encounter old and new beasts as well as Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers.
The upcoming Fantastic Beasts film stars Jude Law as Dumbledore, Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander and Mads Mikkelsen as the villain, Gellert Grindelwald. Also starring in the film is Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Callum Turner, Jessica Williams, William Nadylam and Katherine Waterston.

Grindelwald was previously played by Johnny Depp in the last two films. Depp exited the project after Warner Bros. requested him to step down in November 2020, following his loss in a UK libel case that found allegations of domestic violence committed by him to be \”substantially true\”.
Production started during the pandemic late last year. Filming was shut down temporarily after a crew member tested positive for Coronavirus back in February. Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling and Steve Kloves have written the script, based on a screenplay by Rowling. David Yates is directing.
The Secrets of Dumbledore follows Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016) and The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018). It is the third of five planned Harry Potter prequels.
The latest Fantastic Beasts film opens against Paramount’s The Lost City of D, starring Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum, which is also set for April 15, 2022.
The last instalment in the franchise was met with a mixed response from critics and audiences. It\’s hoped that the upcoming film will get the franchise back on track.
Fantastic Beasts is certainly a huge money-maker for Warner Bros. The first film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, grossed $814 million worldwide, while the second, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, collected $655 million.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore releases in Cinemas on April 15, 2022.
