Talks of his retirement sprawled from an interview he gave on BBC radio show, Kermode and Mayo’s Film Review. He said, \”Funnily enough, it has turned out to be my last part, really” when talking about his film, Best Sellers. He continued to say \”I haven’t worked for two years, and I have a spine problem which affects my leg, so I can’t walk very well.”

The actor also shared details on his perusal of becoming a writer “I’m now not an actor; I’m a writer, which is lovely because as an actor, you have to get up at half-past six in the morning and go to the studio. The acting legend has won two Oscars, thanks to his performances in Hannah and Her Sisters and The Cider House Rules.
