Next James Bond Won\’t Be Discussed Till 2022

As the highly anticipated No Time To Die premieres this week, Bond producers Barbara Broccoli & Michael G. Wilson have commented on the future of the franchise.

No Time To Die will mark Daniel Craig’s final outing as James Bond after he first appeared as 007 in 2006’s Casino Royale. The 25th Bond film also sees Craig play the infamous spy for the fifth time.

In a BBC Radio 4 interview, the producing duo were asked whether they have decided on the next actor to play James Bond. \”Oh God no… we’re not thinking about it at all. We want Daniel to have his time of celebration. Next year we’ll start thinking about the future.”

Wilson also commended Craig\’s 15-year tenure saying \”Those are big shoes to fill… Daniel has changed the series\”.

The long-awaited film will have its World Premiere at the Royal Albert Hall in London on September 28. The film will also be featured at this year’s Zurich Film Festival – the first Bond film to be selected for a Film Festival.

In No Time To Die, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

Next year will mark 60 years of the Bond franchise which first started with 1962\’s Dr. No, starring Sean Connery. Actors George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan all went on to play the British spy.

No Time To Die has been subject to countless release delays due to the pandemic. It was set to release back in April 2020, but now it\’s set to release on September, 30th 2021 (UK), and October 8th 2021 (US).
