SAG Awards 2022 Winners List
SAG Awards 2022 Winners List: CODA makes SAG history
Last night, the 28th Screen Actors Guild Awards took place with an in-person ceremony. Will Smith gave an emotional speech after winning the award for Lead Actor in a Drama film, for his performance in King Richard. Michael Keaton, Jessica Chastain, Kate Winslet and Ariana DeBose were all among those taking home their very own award.
Chastain won for her outstanding transformation in The Eyes Of Tammy Faye. Chastain herself was in shock and her win places her as a frontrunner for the Oscars. Other pleasant surprises included Squid Game\’s Lee Jung-Jae winning the award for Best Actor in a Drama Series, beating favourites Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong and Billy Crudup.
CODA won two major awards with Outstanding Ensemble and Troy Kotsur taking Best Actor in a supporting role. These are historic wins that mark the first time a SAG Award has been given to a cast including deaf actors.
Helen Mirren, 76, was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award, giving a humble speech reflecting on an Oscar-winning career.
